This paper is in-depth systematic analysis of the deeply troubling territory around the periphery of the formal Clergy Discipline Measure (CDM).

It deals with one section of the data collected in the Sheldon/Aston survey in the autumn of 2019. This comprises the narrative submissions by clergy who had been through a complaint, discipline or investigation process other than the formal stages of the Clergy Discipline Measure (CDM) itself. It gives voice to many previously unheard perspectives, and argues for careful attention to the scope and purpose of the replacement of the CDM.
