Everyone faces difficulties in their lives at some time or another. Sometimes these are generated by recent life events such as bereavement or job loss and sometimes they arise from the accumulation of feelings and problems that have occurred throughout life and are experienced as anxiety, depression, lack of self-esteem or problems with work and relationships.

Therapy and counselling provide an opportunity to talk about difficulties in a safe and contained environment, in a group or on a one to one basis. Your therapist will help you explore and express feelings about current or past events, enabling you to become more self-aware.

Therapy helps you achieve a more reflective and objective perspective on your life, and a better capacity to relate to yourself and to others with whom you have personal and work-based relationships.

WPF Therapy began life in 1969 as the Westminster Pastoral Foundation at the Methodist Central Hall, Westminster. Minister Bill Kyle, and his wife Benita recognised how therapy could transform pastoral support work with communities. Guided by the vision of ‘Caring in the heart of the nation’ we have grown to become a significant national provider of psychodynamic counselling, therapy and training.
